ABOUT

The Rann of Kutch is a mesmerizing and unique salt marsh located in the state of Gujarat, India. It’s renowned for its vast expanse of white salt desert, distinctive landscapes, and vibrant cultural heritage. The Rann of Kutch stretches across an area of about 10,000 square kilometres and is divided into two parts: the Great Rann and the Little Rann. Kutch is originally a Greek word that means “something that intermittently becomes wet and dry”, rightly describing the nature of this wonderful place.

Many creative nomadic and semi-nomadic communities that live in Rann of Kutch are famous for their traditional handicrafts and craftsmanship.

One of the most prominent events associated with the Rann of Kutch is the Rann Utsav, also known as the Rann Festival. This annual festival celebrates the culture, traditions, and artistry of the region. It usually takes place from November to February, coinciding with the months when the desert is at its most enchanting state. The people of Kutch are known for their warm-heartedness & hospitality; they welcome tourists with open arms. “Kutch Nahi Dekha To Kuch Nahi Dekha” remember this? Important:

    • The Rann Utsav is set to take place from 01-Nov-2023 to 27-Feb-2024. In the distant past, the region solely relied on the natural moonlight, creating a truly unique experience in the white desert at night. However, at present, extensive floodlight installations across the area have significantly reduced the visibility of moonlight, resembling the floodlights at cricket stadiums during night matches. Rest assured, you can now plan your visit on any date without being dependent on moonlight.
    • Please make sure you have gone through the entire details, disclaimer, and if accused/points to note, before booking the event. Please do not apply to join our group without reading and understanding the details explained on this page.

FAQs:

1. How big will the group be?

We prefer to have a group of 15-18 people as we intend to have more fun and give personal care. We need at least 6 people to manage our trip

2. Who will accompany us on the trip?

All our trips are led by professional travel coordinators who have good experience in management groups.

3. If I'm the only girl in the group, is it safe to travel?

We generally have many girls joining us on the trip so there are high chances that you are not the only girl on the trip.

Safety is of prime importance and we understand them very well. The major of our staff is a girl for that very reason so be assured you are in safe and reliable hands.

4. How can I book a trip with you?

After selecting the trip, you can book by clicking the Book now button or you can contact us and we will guide you through the booking.

5. Can the trip be personalized?

6.What is the best time to visit Rann Utsav ?

The optimal time to visit the Rann of Kutch is during the vibrant Rann Utsav Festival, running from November 01, 2023 to February 2024. During these months, the temperature ranges from 22 to 10 degrees Celsius, ensuring comfortable sightseeing. Bhuj city hosts the nearest railway station and airport, with a distance of approximately 86.6 kilometers to the white desert. This journey takes about 1 hour and 23 minutes by road. It's noteworthy that from March to October, the entire Rann of Kutch is submerged in salty water, rendering the white salt flats invisible. Hence, visiting during this period is not recommended as there won't be much to see beyond the sea.

7. Is Rann Utsav at Rann of Kutch Tour safe for solo participants?

Absolutely, it's both safe and comfortable. In fact, around 40% of our participants usually join solo and seamlessly integrate with our leaders and the rest of the group.

8. Can we make partial payment or pay in installment for Rann Utsav at Rann of Kutch??

If you book 60 days in advance, you have the option for a partial payment. However, the balance payment must be settled at least 20 days before the event date and time.
