Rann of Kutch

3 Days 3 Nights

Overview

The Rann of Kutch is a mesmerizing and unique salt marsh located in the state of Gujarat, India. It’s renowned for its vast expanse of white salt desert, distinctive landscapes, and vibrant cultural heritage. The Rann of Kutch stretches across an area of about 10,000 square kilometers and is divided into two parts: the Great Rann and the Little Rann. Kutch is originally a Greek word that means “something that intermittently becomes wet and dry”, rightly describing the nature of this wonderful place.

Many creative nomadic and semi-nomadic communities that live in Rann of Kutch are famous for their traditional handicrafts and craftsmanship.

One of the most prominent events associated with the Rann of Kutch is the Rann Utsav, also known as the Rann Festival. This annual festival celebrates the culture, traditions, and artistry of the region. It usually takes place from November to February, coinciding with the months when the desert is at its most enchanting state. The people of Kutch are known for their warm-heartedness & hospitality; they welcome tourists with open arms. “Kutch Nahi Dekha To Kuch Nahi Dekha” remember this? What is the best time to visit Rann Utsav ?

The optimal time to visit the Rann of Kutch is during the vibrant Rann Utsav Festival, running from November 01, 2023 to February 2024. During these months, the temperature ranges from 22 to 10 degrees Celsius, ensuring comfortable sightseeing. Bhuj city hosts the nearest railway station and airport, with a distance of approximately 86.6 kilometers to the white desert. This journey takes about 1 hour and 23 minutes by road. It's noteworthy that from March to October, the entire Rann of Kutch is submerged in salty water, rendering the white salt flats invisible. Hence, visiting during this period is not recommended as there won't be much to see beyond the sea.

Is Rann Utsav at Rann of Kutch Tour safe for solo participants?

Absolutely, it's both safe and comfortable. In fact, around 40% of our participants usually join solo and seamlessly integrate with our leaders and the rest of the group.

Can we make partial payment or pay in installment for Rann Utsav at Rann of Kutch?

If you book 60 days in advance, you have the option for a partial payment. However, the balance payment must be settled at least 10 days before the event date and time.
