Itinerary
The trip has begun! We pick you up from Delhi at about 7 p.m. and reach Mandi at around 5 a.m. the next morning.
From Mandi, we take the road to Bir Billing and check-in at the hotel. Post breakfast go for Bir Billing paragliding at Asia’s highest and world’s second-highest paragliding site! After that, visit the Baijnath temple. Post-lunch we can go to the Palampur Tea Gardens, provided we have enough time, and later return to Bir town to enjoy the lovely sunset! After some fun activities and having dinner at the hotel, we call it a day!
The next morning, we’ll get up a little early and post breakfast, set foot to reach Barot while enjoying the sightseeing. There’s this Dzongsar Chokyi Lodro Monastery and the Shanan Power House which will fall en route to Barot. We will have our lunch on the way and reach Barot in the afternoon. From there the first step of the Rajgundha trek begins and we take a friendly walk to our campsite. The night will be at the riverside camp in Rajgundha with the campfire, dance, and music!
In the morning post-breakfast, play in the ice-cold river, go zip-lining and visit the Trout Fish Farm. Depart from Mandi in the evening to reach Delhi the next morning with truckloads of good memories!

Yes. Kids, who are below the age of 18 years can enjoy paragliding as well with their parent’s permission as there is no age limit for the activity. However, parents are not allowed to paraglide with their children. But it is completely safe as the paragliding instructor will accompany and fly with your kids during the activity.
The highest temperature at Rajgundha is 37 degrees celsius in June, and the lowest temperature is 18 degrees Celsius in January.
For the Bir Billing Paragliding Trip we will provide triple sharing occupancy at the hotels which will be well-equipped with clean washrooms, mattresses, and blankets. At Rajgundha we will stay in camps amongst the forests to make the night more happening.
If there is a couple, we can give them a separate room (If you’re a couple, inform us once you have booked). There will be some extra charges for the dual sharing accommodation.
Yes, People who are interested to travel with us to the Bir Billing Paragliding Trip should not be more than 35 years. We maintain a strict rule of the age bar and no travelers above the age of 35 will be allowed on this trip. On the day of departure, travelers should be within the age limit otherwise they will not be eligible to join.
We strongly believe that if the age group is narrow, our travelers can have a better and more enriching experience when we arrive at the destination. More fun is guaranteed when people are on the same age wavelength. Plus, when people make friends on the trip and keep in touch with them later, it always feels great!
Yes, we provide Jain food for our travelers for breakfast which is included in our package. We also visit cafes where Jain food is available for other meals which are not included in our Bir Billing Paragliding trip package. If you are Jain please make sure you share your food preferences with us in the WhatsApp group which we created before the trip for coordination.

Thukpa- This is one of the famous Tibetan noodle soups made with vegetables and chicken that tastes awesome in the chilly weather of Bir.

Yes, Medical facilities like hospitals and nursing homes are available at a short distance in Bir Billing in case anyone injures themselves on the paragliding trip. We also carry a first aid kit containing band-aids and cotton in case of immediate emergencies. If you take any specific medications for any illness, it is advised that you inform us beforehand and also keep the same with yourself. You must also bring medicines and pills for headache, vomiting, stomach pain, and digestive problems with you on the trip.

Drinking and smoking are not forbidden on the Bir Billing Paragliding Trip, but you can drink alcohol only at night during our stay. Smokers can smoke but you have to make sure that you don’t make others uncomfortable.

The distance between Bir Billing and Baijnath temple is 13.7 km which will take us about 24 minutes to reach via the Bir road and the NH154.
Generally speaking, the trek to Rajgundha is fairly easy. We will start from Barot and reach Rajgundha by the evening. The difficulty level is between easy to moderate. There are some rocky terrains which you must be careful while climbing uphill. But other than that it is completely safe, and once you reach the top of Rajgundha, the scenic beauty will surely mesmerize you, making you forget about the tiring walk.
In short, yes. Being fit and active are the key elements that are required for paragliding. Although there are no major restrictions, and anyone can enjoy the ride up in the air with an experienced instructor to guide you, it is recommended that you are in perfect health before the take-off.

Yes. The two people who can paraglide together are the instructor and the passenger. You cannot do paragliding without an instructor in Bir Billing. While the passenger is strapped in the front with a harness, the instructor straps himself at the back, before the flight. No. It’s dangerous to paraglide in the rain as the water wets the fabric of the paraglider which is made of plastic and hence it gets soaked like a sponge. Since the fabric is not waterproof, the glider becomes too heavy which can result in accidents. So, you should never paraglide in the rain.
We takeoff for paragliding at a meadow, 14kms north of Bir, which is situated at a height of 2500 mts, and the landing site are at a village called Chowgan, located on the southern edge of Bir. Smooth winds are required during landing as winds play an important role in paragliding. The landing site at Chowgan village is qualified for having smooth ground with a lower intensity of winds which guarantees a safe landing, reducing the chance of accidents.
It is preferred that you wear light-weight and warm clothes during the paragliding activity with a winding sheet that covers them so that it doesn’t hinder your body movement up in the air. It is advised that you don’t wear too tight or heavy clothes as you might feel uncomfortable moving your arms and legs in them.
You can get your photos and videos clicked while paragliding at Bir Billing. But you are not allowed to carry your own camera and Go Pro. Hence, what you can do instead is rent a camera from take-off off-site itself and take it with you in the aircraft for clicking photos.
Everyone likes to have their complete photo with the aircraft, which they cannot get with a selfie camera, they are carrying. At the landing site, a few photographers are standing with a camera, who will click your photo and ask a heavy amount for that copy. No. There is no possibility of getting a female pilot for paragliding in Bir Billing
Although paragliding is not suitable for people suffering from vertigo, you can enjoy the activity after consulting a doctor. Paragliding requires you to stay aloft high in the sky for quite some time and witness the ground thousands of feet underneath which can trigger your vertigo. Hence a doctor’s approval is mandatory before paragliding if you have vertigo.
Usually while paragliding, if the weather conditions are favorable, you can stay up in the air for about 30 minutes. But if the weather conditions deteriorate, you can paraglide for about 10-15 minutes max, before you land.

No. Carrying your own GoPro is not allowed during paragliding. However, you can pay an additional amount to avail of the GoPro recording services that will capture photos and videos of your entire paragliding experience. The digital copy will be shared with you after you have landed on the ground.
You must wear hiking boots or trainers for paragliding. Although, while up in the air it doesn’t matter what shoes you are wearing, during the landing procedure you need shoes that provide a strong and firm grip so that you do not slip and injure yourself.
