Itinerary
Bagdogra – Phuentsholing
155 km | Approx. 3 hr 45 min | Altitude: 293 m
Your journey begins with a scenic drive through North Bengal’s lush tea gardens and forested landscapes. Step into Bhutan as you walk across the iconic Bhutan Gate—your first magical photo moment.
Explore Zangtopelri Square, sip traditional butter tea, and unwind with an evening pub or karaoke experience. Enjoy dinner at a stylish café or your hotel before resting up for the mountains ahead.
Phuentsholing – Thimphu
146 km | Approx. 4 hr 30 min | Altitude: 2,400 m
After completing immigration formalities, travel deeper into Bhutan through winding mountain roads and river valleys. Arrive in Thimphu, the world’s only capital without traffic lights.
Spend the evening exploring the Centenary Farmers Market, Handicrafts Bazaar, and Clock Tower Square. Optional nightlife awaits with live music, karaoke, and dance clubs. Dinner at your hotel or a cozy downtown café.
Thimphu Sightseeing
Begin your day at the awe-inspiring Buddha Dordenma, offering panoramic valley views. Experience Bhutanese traditions at Simply Bhutan, where you can try archery and traditional dances.

Thimphu – Punakha via Dochula Pass

Cross the stunning Dochula Pass (3,100 m), adorned with 108 chortens and sweeping Himalayan views. Enjoy high tea at the Druk Wangyel Cafeteria, literally above the clouds.
Visit the legendary Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple), explore the majestic Punakha Dzong, and walk across Bhutan’s longest suspension bridge. Optional white-water rafting on the Mo Chhu River.

Punakha – Paro

Start your morning with a scenic hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a hidden gem offering spectacular valley views.
En route to Paro, visit Tamchog Lhakhang and its historic iron bridge. Pause for coffee at Your Café at Neyphug Heritage, a serene monastery-run café. Evening free to explore Paro Bazaar and local brews.
Taktsang Monastery Hike
6.4 km round trip | 5–7 hrs | Altitude: 3,120 m
Today’s highlight: the legendary Tiger’s Nest Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff 900 m above the valley. A spiritual and physical achievement like no other.
Post-hike, indulge in an optional traditional hot stone bath for deep relaxation. Wind down at Namgay Artisanal Brewery or a charming café before dinner.
Paro – Phuentsholing
145 km | Approx. 4 hr 30 min
Enjoy a relaxed morning with last-minute shopping and valley views before beginning your return journey. Arrive in Phuentsholing by evening for a celebratory farewell dinner, reliving memories from your Bhutan adventure.
Phuentsholing – Bagdogra
155 km | Approx. 3 hr 45 min
After breakfast and immigration formalities, drive to Bagdogra Airport. Depart with soulful memories, stunning photographs, and a deep connection to the Land of the Thunder Dragon.
