Day 1: Arrival at Kodaikanal | Visit Bryant park, Vattakanal falls, Guna caves, Green Valley viewpoint
Hey Amigos! Welcome aboard! Finally, we got to meet after these long hours from Bengaluru and now we couldn’t wait to have our perfect little weekend together! It’s finally the day when we get to start the Kodaikanal trip which you have been craving since the day you saw all those flavoury blogs and amazing pictures. We know we can’t either. As we arrive today early in the morning, we exchange warm hugs and greetings and then check in at our hotels. We know you’ve been starving so we have the most scrumptious breakfast waiting to serve you before we head off.
The thing that is exceptionally charming here is the serene vibes of Kodaikanal. Away from all the hustle and bustle of the cities, a place where you can set your mind free and wander off without having to worry about anything. As long as you’re here, Kodaikanal is going to make sure that you’ll only think about it and nothing else.
As the day grows, we set on our journey and explore what the Kodaikanal trip has to offer. First on the list is Bryant Park. Ah, what a beauty! This park, only 20 acres in size, is one of those elements that add to the already beaming elegance of this place. Situated on the east side of Kodai lake, the Bryant part is bejeweled with tons of flowering species and shrubs. The park has an exotic collection of roses, perfect for your camera frame, as well as a greenhouse that hosts different collections of plants. Walking through this greenhouse will make you feel like exploring different sections of the world in a single place.
As we head out of the park we will make a stop to grab our delicious lunch. Post-launch, we stroll towards Vattakanal falls. As we walk towards Dolphin’s nose, you’re bound to be attracted to the heavy noise of the Vattakanal. It is a beautiful waterfall in Kodaikanal and is known for its biodiversity. Once you see this stunning piece of nature, your hands will automatically grab your mobile and start clicking pictures. Vattakanal falls provides a mesmerizing view with evergreen forests on both sides and panoramic vistas that are indeed elegant. Yes, it also serves for your perfect weekend picture background too!
As the sun moves, we move too. Next up in this Kodaikanal trip, we have Pillar rocks viewpoint. A stunning tourist destination that not only is enthralling but also offers an enthralling view of the surroundings. The glory of this place cannot be defined with words even when you see it. Maybe they are just three rock formations standing 400 feet erect over the plains of Kodaikanal, but once you get to see it, your whole notions about this place are going to change.
After taking all those lovely pictures, we head towards Guna caves for the next spot in our Kodaikanal tour package. Strangely, this place is also known as devil’s kitchen, spooky right, well the place itself is. These caves are located far away from proper towns and into the dense forests with occasional appearances of mystical fog and the dense collection of pine roots that fill the path. Going through the caves is itself thrilling and is an adventure you’re surely going to remember.
After a terrific ride through the caves, we are going to visit Green valley viewpoint, another viewpoint that serves you the serene vibes that Kodaikanal is plenty of. The sights here are worth watching that ranges from clouds playing hide and seek with the mountains to the never-ending horizon that seems to shade the mountains with different hues. While strolling through this area, you will find stalls selling delicious homemade chocolates, stylish pendants, and many more.
As the sun sets in, we go to our hotel. Wait, the fun isn’t ending here for today. We have arranged engaging activities just for you! After having a mouth-watery dinner, we will dance, sing and play lots of games while also knowing each other as it goes and finally as the night approaches, we retire to our beds, eagerly waiting for another amazing day of our Kodaikanal trip.
Day 2: Enjoy Kodai lake boating | Visit and witness Kodaikanal pine forest, Liril falls, Chocolate factory | Departure
Good Morning folks! We had a great day yesterday and now we’re ready to make today even better(shhh it’s Hikerwolf’s secret). You’ll wake up to a delightful breakfast in the morning and then we will skedaddle for today’s Kodaikanal trip.
We start our day with a healthy and refreshing Coaker’s walk. A 1km stretch of paved path along the valley built in the 70s is a jogging track for tourists in the morning, but it has some nice things to offer too. The walk gives you enchanting views of the valleys beyond as well as the Pamber river. Just a picture-perfect destination to soothe your mind. Don’t forget to try out the stalls that sell Bhel and sliced mangoes with masalas. Yum!
Today’s Kodaikanal trip specialty is the Kodai lake boating. Yes, it’s BOATING TIME! Put your life jackets on as we head on to enjoy the Kodai lake. Experience heaven in this star-shaped lake at the heart of Kodaikanal and surrounded by the magnificent, lush green Palani hills. Click pictures on the boat, splash waters, and have lots of fun. There are also tons of things to do around this lake and that includes horse-riding around shores as well as spending quality time admiring the divine natural architecture while basking under the warm sun and witnessing the chilly winds abundant in this region.
Next, we head on to Silver cascade falls. What could be better than a white stream of water gushing down a 120 feet height and keeping the whole region in an epic loud vibe? So is the Silver cascade. This waterfall originates from the overflow of Kodai lake and is popular among tourists mostly because of the rugged terrain and scenic architecture. After having loads of fun here, we’ll head for a wholesome lunch.
Post lunch, we head for the Kodaikanal pine forest. An eerily mystical forest that is popular for its dramatically huge pine trees and enchanting “into the woods” vibe. You can also opt for horse-riding here or just walk around and explore the magic. Next up in today’s Kodaikanal trip is Pambar falls. This is also known as Liril falls, a grand cascade, but whatever you call it, it never fails to offer picture-worthy views. The water that gushes down forms an illusion of falling through a series of coherent steps. It will be a great exercise for you as you climb up the steep path to view the falls in their full glory.
Finally, we set off for our last spot on this Kodaikanal trip, the chocolate factory. It reminds us of Willy Wonka from Charlie and the Chocolate factory, right? But unlike it, we don’t have competition set up, everyone will get equal opportunity to explore our childhood wonderland. This factory is famous for the homemade chocolates that are ridiculously delicious and savory and will make you relive your golden days.
This marks the end of our wonderful Kodaikanal trip and now it’s time for us to return to our daily lives. It has been a wonderful journey and the friends that we made will remain with us for life. As we board you on the bus to Bengaluru with varied emotions of parting, we hope that we’ll meet again sometime in the future. Until then, Vive la Vida Loca!
