Overview
Monasteries, Tibetan culture, long valleys, and nature’s wonders; that is what Ladakh has in store for you! This place makes even the most laid-back people feel adventurous. The illusive road of the Magnetic Hill will amaze the scientist inside you while the town Kargil will make your patriotic hearts fill with pride.
The locals here are the best in terms of hospitality while the tiny villages have the best cultural displays. If you are planning for a Ladakh trip in the winters, brace yourself because this golden land is going to blow your minds!
Itinerary
Upon reaching Leh We will have our pick up from the airport around 1 pm and spend the rest of the day in the city. This will get you accustomed to the climatic and high altitude conditions of the place. Check in to our accommodation and if you feel alright, visit Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, and the local market.
Start the day early and drive to Kargil via the Srinagar-Leh Highway. On the way visit the Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, Indus & Zanskar confluence at Nimmu, and Likir Monastery. Reach Kargil by evening and stay overnight there.
Reboot yourselves on the second day of your stay at Kargil by visiting the infamous War Memorial in Dras. You can also enjoy skiing, sledding, and other snow activities and then return to Kargil and stay overnight.
Drive via the historical town of Batalik which served as the focal point of the Kargil War. Stop at the Aryan valley camp for lunch and experience the local life of the Aryans. Return to Leh by evening and stay there overnight.
We will arrange airport drops at around 12 noon. We can also assist you in booking your stay if you want to stay a little longer in Leh.
Note: During winter most of the hotels are not operational due to ice blockage in their sewage system. Hence, at times we might use homestays.
